Jean Rodolphe Piccard

Jean Rodolphe Piccard was a Swiss-born American explorer, scientist, and inventor. He is best known for his pioneering work in high-altitude ballooning and for designing and piloting the first stratosphere balloon, the 'Century of Progress'. Piccard also developed the first bathyscaphe, the 'Trieste', which was later used to reach the deepest part of the ocean.
