Jean-Claude Pecker

Jean-Claude Pecker (1923–2020) was a French astronomer, astrophysicist, and author known for his contributions to theoretical astrophysics. He served as director of the Nice Observatory, secretary-general of the International Astronomical Union (1964–1967), and president of the Société astronomique de France (1973–1976). A vocal opponent of astrology and pseudoscience, he held leadership roles including president of the Association française pour l'information scientifique (1999–2001).[1][2]
