Janice Y K Lee

Janice Y. K. Lee is a Hong Kong-born American author known for her novels The Piano Teacher (2009) and The Expatriates (2016), both set in Hong Kong and exploring themes of love, loss, and identity. Born in Hong Kong to Korean immigrant parents, she moved to the United States to attend Harvard College, graduating with a degree in English and American Literature and Language, and later earned an MFA from Hunter College. A former editor at Elle and Mirabella magazines, she lives in New York with her husband and four children.
