Janet Perlman (Author, Illustrator)

Janet Perlman is a Canadian animator, author, and illustrator based in Montreal, renowned for her humorous children's books and animated films, including the Oscar-nominated short *The Tender Tale of Cinderella Penguin*.[1][3][6] She has worked extensively with the National Film Board of Canada, co-founded Lamb-Perlman Productions and Hulascope Studio, and created books like *Cinderella Penguin* and *Penguins Behind Bars*.[2][3][4] Perlman has taught animation at Harvard University, RISD, and Concordia, and her films address themes from silliness to bullying and conflict resolution.[3][4][6]
