Janet Halfmann
Janet Halfmann is an award-winning children's author born on a farm in Michigan, who began her career as a newspaper reporter and editor before becoming a full-time freelance writer of picture books after Golden Books relocated in 1997.[1][2][3] She has authored nearly fifty fiction and nonfiction books, focusing on animals, nature, and biographies of little-known historical figures.[2][4][8] A mother of four and grandmother of seven, she lives in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and enjoys gardening and exploring nature.[2][3]
