Jane Yolen
Jane Yolen is an acclaimed American author of fantasy, science fiction, and children's books, having written or edited over 400 books including The Devil's Arithmetic, Owl Moon, and the How Do Dinosaurs series.[2][1] Born in New York City on February 11, 1939, she grew up in various places including California, Virginia, and New York, graduated from Smith College, and became a full-time writer after working in publishing.[2][3] She has received numerous awards such as the Caldecott Medal, Nebula Awards, and World Fantasy Lifetime Achievement Award, and is known for her poetry, folklore-inspired stories, and collaborations with her children.[7][2]
