Jane Jacobs

Jane Jacobs was an American-born Canadian journalist, author, and urban activist who became one of the most influential critics of conventional urban planning. Her 1961 book, "The Death and Life of Great American Cities," argued for community-centered cities and challenged top-down urban renewal and slum-clearance policies.
