Jane Iwamura

Jane Naomi Iwamura is a Professor of Religious Studies and inaugural director of the Institute for the Study of Humanistic Buddhism at University of the West. Her research focuses on Asian American religions and the intersection of race and popular culture in the United States, with particular emphasis on visual culture. She is the author of Virtual Orientalism: Religion and Popular Culture in the U.S. (2011) and co-editor of Revealing the Sacred in Asian and Pacific America (2003).
