Jan Verhoeff
Jan Andreas Verhoeff was a Dutch painter and resistance fighter against Nazism during World War II. He was active in the L.O. (Landelijke hulp aan onderduikers) resistance movement, which helped people and families go into hiding during the occupation. He was arrested in December 1944 while attempting to escape to liberated territory and was executed by hanging in Renesse on December 10, 1944, as one of the Ten of Renesse.
