Janet Taylor, born Jane Ann Ionn, was an English astronomer, navigation expert, mathematician, meteorologist, author, and instrument maker who made important contributions to 19th-century sea navigation. She founded the George Taylor Nautical Academy and wrote works on astronomy and navigation.[1][7][10]
