Jan Ormerod
Jan Ormerod (born Janet Louise Hendry) was an acclaimed Australian author and illustrator of children's books, best known for her wordless picture book *Sunshine*, which won the Mother Goose Award in 1982.[1][3] Growing up in Western Australia, she drew compulsively from a young age, attended art school, taught art and design, and later moved to Britain in 1980 where she created over 50 books.[1][3][7] She passed away in 2013 after a short illness.[1][8]
