James Perkins (b. 1978) is an American sculptor based in New York City and Fire Island, NY, who creates contemporary works that engage with the concept of the nonsite, originally developed by Robert Smithson in 1968. He collaborates with natural processes to make marks and interventions, rather than presenting raw earth as an art object.
