James V. Valentino

James Valentino is a historian and author who spent 45 years working on Galveston Bay as a commercial fisherman and shrimp boat captain before returning to pursue a Master's Degree in American History in 2011. He has taught history at community colleges and authored several works blending personal experience with historical scholarship, including 'Looking Over the Gray-Green Bay' (2014) and 'From Maine to Galveston: Republic of Texas: the Life and Letters of Lucy Parker Shaw.'
