James Stevenson

James Stevenson was an American illustrator, cartoonist, and author renowned for over 100 children's books and nearly 2,000 cartoons in The New Yorker magazine from 1956 to 2017. Born in New York City, he graduated from Yale University in 1951 and began his career contributing to the magazine after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. His distinctive comic style appeared in books like What's Under My Bed? and collections such as Sorry Lady — This Beach is Private!.
