James R. Munkres

James R. Munkres is an American mathematician and Professor Emeritus at MIT, known for his work in topology and differential topology. He is the author of several widely used mathematics textbooks, including Topology, Analysis on Manifolds, Elements of Algebraic Topology, and Elementary Differential Topology, and is also associated with the Munkres assignment algorithm.
