James R. Brannan

James R. Brennan is a historian specializing in African history, serving as Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign since 2013. He earned his Ph.D. from Northwestern University in 2002, M.A. from the University of Alabama in 1994, and B.A. from the University of Illinois in 1991. His research examines transnational political networks in postcolonial pan-Africanism and neoliberalism, and he holds a Research Associate position at SOAS, University of London since 2008.
