James P Cannon

James Patrick Cannon was an American Trotskyist, political activist, writer, and party leader who helped found the Communist movement in the United States and later became a leading figure in the Socialist Workers Party. He served as the SWP’s national secretary from its founding in 1938 until 1953 and remained one of the most influential figures in American Trotskyism.
