James Nestor
James Nestor is an American author and science journalist known for his books on breathing and freediving, including the international bestseller Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art (2020) and Deep: Freediving, Renegade Science, and What the Ocean Tells Us About Ourselves (2014).[1][2][5] Born in Tustin, California, he has contributed to publications such as Scientific American, Outside, The New York Times, and The Atlantic, and holds an MFA in art and literature.[3][4] He resides in San Francisco.
