James L. Patton

James L. Patton is an American evolutionary biologist and mammalogist who served as professor of integrative biology and curator of mammals at the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, University of California, Berkeley. His research focused on the evolution, genetics, ecology, systematics, and biogeography of mammals, especially rodents and marsupials, and he authored nearly 200 scientific publications.
