James Howe
James Howe is an American author of over ninety books for young readers, best known for the *Bunnicula* series co-written with his late wife Deborah Howe in 1977 and *The Misfits*, which inspired the No Name-Calling Week anti-bullying initiative. His works span children's novels, picture books, young adult fiction, mysteries like the Sebastian Barth series, and chapter books such as Pinky and Rex, often exploring themes of acceptance, difference, and self-identity. He began writing full-time in 1981 after careers in acting and as a literary agent, and lives in New York State with his husband Mark Davis.
