James Hankins

James Hankins is an American intellectual historian specializing in the Italian Renaissance, especially Renaissance political thought, philosophy, and the classical tradition. He taught at Harvard University for about 40 years and is the founder and general editor of the I Tatti Renaissance Library; his books include *Virtue Politics* and *Political Meritocracy in Renaissance Italy*.[1][2][8]
