James Haley
James L. Haley is an award-winning American author specializing in Texas and Western history, Native American topics, and historical fiction, including the Bliven Putnam Naval Adventure series and biographies like *Sam Houston* (2002) and *Wolf: The Lives of Jack London* (2010), both Spur Award winners.[1][5][7] Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Arlington with a political science degree, and attended the University of Texas School of Law before becoming a full-time writer; he resides in Austin, Texas.[2][5][7]
