James Edson White

James Edson White (1849–1928), frequently known as Edson White, was an American author, publisher, and Seventh-day Adventist minister who was the second son of church pioneers James S. White and Ellen G. White. He is best known for his pioneering mission work among African Americans in the Southern United States, including operating the Riverboat Morning Star to provide literacy education along the Mississippi River. White also established significant publishing ventures, such as the J. E. White Publishing Company and the Southern Missionary Society.
