James Demas

James Gregory Demas was an emeritus professor of chemistry at the University of Virginia, where he taught and conducted research in analytical, physical, inorganic, and polymer chemistry. He is especially known for his work on luminescence, with more than 200 publications, several books, and six patents, as well as for mentoring undergraduates and promoting science education.
