James A Rawley
James A. Rawley (1916–2005) was an American historian and biographer widely respected for his expertise in the Civil War era, American race relations, and the transatlantic slave trade. A Regent's Professor Emeritus at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, he authored influential works including The Transatlantic Slave Trade: A History (1981) and Abraham Lincoln and a Nation Worth Fighting For (1996), fundamentally reshaping how American history was taught across the country.
