Jacques Van Doorn
Jacques van Doorn (1925–2008) was a leading Dutch sociologist, historian, and columnist who made significant contributions to military sociology and the development of sociology education in the Netherlands. He founded the department of Sociology at the Nederlandse Economische Hogeschool (which later became Erasmus University Rotterdam) and was instrumental in creating the Rotterdam Formula for sociology education. He served as a professor of sociology at Erasmus University Rotterdam until his retirement in 1987.
