Jacques Pitrat

Jacques Pitrat (1934-2019) was a pioneering French researcher in symbolic artificial intelligence, professor emeritus at Pierre and Marie Curie University, and Director of Research at CNRS and LIP6. He made foundational contributions to general game playing, constraint programming, theorem proving, and the CAIA system for bootstrapping AI, supervising 70 PhD theses and earning fellowships from AAAI and ECCAI.[1][2][3]
