Jacques Monet
Jacques Monet, S.J. (1930-2024) was a prominent Canadian Jesuit priest, historian, and scholar specializing in Canadian constitutional history, 19th-century French-Canadian nationalism, the role of the monarchy in Canada, and Jesuit history. Born in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, he entered the Society of Jesus in 1949, earned a PhD from the University of Toronto in 1964, and was ordained in 1966; he taught at institutions like the University of Ottawa and Regis College, founded the Canadian Institute of Jesuit Studies, and authored key works including 'The Last Cannon Shot.'[1][2][3][4]
