Jacqueline Johnson

Jacqueline Johnson is a multidisciplinary artist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, now residing in Brooklyn, New York, known for her work in poetry, fiction, and fiber arts. She is the author of poetry collections A Gathering of Mother Tongues (White Pine Press, 1998, winner of the Third Annual White Pine Press Poetry Prize) and A Woman's Season (Main Street Rag, 2015), as well as the children's book Stokely Carmichael: The Story of Black Power (Simon & Schuster). A Cave Canem fellow, she has received awards from the New York Foundation for the Arts and others, and has taught poetry at institutions including Poets House and Pine Manor College.
