Jackson P Burley High School

Jackson P. Burley was an educator, church worker, and African American businessman associated with the history of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Virginia. He is best known as the namesake of Jackson P. Burley High School, which opened in 1951 and served Black students from the city and county before later becoming a middle school.
