Jack Prelutsky
Jack Prelutsky is an American writer of children's poetry who has published over 50 poetry collections. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he grew up in the Bronx and initially pursued music and other careers before discovering his passion for writing humorous, inventive poetry for children. He served as the first U.S. Children's Poet Laureate from 2006 to 2008 and is credited with transforming children's poetry from didactic to fun and engaging.
