Jack Goldstein

Jack Goldstein (1945–2003) was a Canadian-born artist based in California and New York, known for his work in performance, conceptual art, minimalist sculpture, experimental films, and later post-conceptual painting in the 1980s. Emerging from CalArts in the early 1970s as part of the Pictures Generation, he questioned authorship and originality through provocative works like the film 'The Jump' (1978), before withdrawing from the art scene in the early 1990s to live in isolation in Los Angeles.
