J. R. Martin

J. R. Martin is a Canadian linguist and Professor of Linguistics at the University of Sydney. He studied linguistics at York University, the University of Toronto, and the University of Essex under notable scholars including Michael Halliday. He has been based at the University of Sydney since 1977, where he was invited by Halliday to join the newly founded Linguistics Department.
