J D M Derrett

J. D. M. Derrett, born John Duncan Martin Derrett, was a British jurist and Orientalist who served as Professor of Oriental Laws at the University of London from 1965 to 1982 and later became emeritus professor. He wrote extensively on law, Hindu law, Indian legal history, religion, and comparative religion, and also translated works into English.
