Irving Louis Horowitz

Irving Louis Horowitz (1929–2012) was an American sociologist, author, and academic best known for his work in political sociology and for helping popularize the term "Third World." He was a professor at Rutgers University and also served as chairman and editorial director of Transaction Publishers, where he influenced social science publishing for decades.
