International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) was founded in 1911 as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (CTR) through the merger of three companies specializing in punch-card tabulating machines and office equipment, later rebranded as IBM on February 14, 1924, under Thomas J. Watson Sr.'s leadership. Headquartered in Armonk, New York, IBM pioneered computing technologies, including its first computer in 1951 and the revolutionary System/360 in 1964, becoming a global leader in computer hardware, software, and IT consulting.
