Ingrid Newkirk

Ingrid Elizabeth Newkirk (née Ward), born June 11, 1949, is a British-American animal rights activist, author, and co-founder of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the world's largest animal rights organization[1][2]. She authored several books on animal liberation, including Free the Animals (2000) and Making Kind Choices (2005)[3][4]. As PETA's president, she has led campaigns to end animal use in crash tests, cosmetics testing, and entertainment[1].
