Ikkyu Sojun

Ikkyu Sojun (1394–1481) was a Japanese Zen Buddhist monk and poet known for his iconoclastic approach to Zen and his influence on Japanese art and literature. He was especially noted for challenging religious conventions and for poetry that blended religious insight with vivid, unconventional themes.
