Ibram X Kendi

Ibram X. Kendi (born Ibram Henry Rogers) is one of the world's foremost historians of racism and a leading antiracist scholar, author of numerous New York Times bestsellers including the National Book Award-winning Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America (2016), for which he was the youngest recipient at age 34. He holds positions such as the Carter G. Woodson Chair in History at Howard University and founding director of the BU Center for Antiracist Research at Boston University. In 2013, he changed his middle name to Xolani ('Peace' in Zulu) and surname to Kendi ('loved one' in Meru) upon marrying pediatrician Dr. Sadiqa Kendi.
