Ian R. Mitchell
Ian R. Mitchell is a Scottish historian and author born in Aberdeen who taught history for over 20 years at Clydebank College near Glasgow before becoming a full-time writer.[1][2] A lifelong mountaineer and hillwalker, he is best known for his mountaineering literature, including the classic 'Mountain Days and Bothy Nights' (1987) co-authored with Dave Brown, and has won the Boardman Tasker Mountain Literature Prize and the Outdoor Writers' Guild Excellence Award.[2][3]
