Ian Duncan

Ian Duncan is the Florence Green Bixby Distinguished Professor of English at the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in the theory and history of the novel, British literature of the long nineteenth century, and Scottish literature[2]. He is the author of award-winning scholarly works including Modern Romance and Transformations of the Novel (1992), Scott's Shadow: The Novel in Romantic Edinburgh (2007), and Human Forms: The Novel in the Age of Evolution (2019)[2][3]. Duncan is also a Corresponding Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and serves as a General Editor of the Collected Works of James Hogg[2][3].
