Hugh Rethman

Hugh Rethman was born in Natal to a family descended from early settlers there. He moved to Britain, where he read law at the University of Leeds and qualified as a barrister, practicing law in both Britain and South Africa. He has written on the Boer Wars, including his work 'The Natal Campaign: A Sacrifice Betrayed.'
