Hugh Howey
Hugh C. Howey, born in 1975 in Charlotte, North Carolina, is an American science fiction author best known for his *Silo* series, starting with the international bestseller *Wool*, which he self-published on Amazon in 2011 and has been translated into over 40 languages.[1][3][2] After working various jobs including yacht captain, computer repair, and bookstore clerk, he achieved success with *Wool*, leading to adaptations like Apple TV's *Silo* series, while pursuing his dream of sailing around the world.[2][3][6] He lives in New York with his wife Shay.[2]
