Howard Koonce
Howard L. Koonce was an American professor of English and performing arts who taught at Colby College from 1963 to 1994 after earning his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He was actively involved in community theater as an actor, director, and producer with groups like Waterville Repertory Theater and Waterville Opera House, notably portraying Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman. Born in Afton, Oklahoma, he graduated from Dartmouth College in 1953, served as a naval aviator, and died in 2007 after battling emphysema.
