Howard John Clinebell Jr. was a United Methodist minister, professor of pastoral counseling, and author known for pioneering an approach that combined psychotherapy and religion.[1][6] He taught at the Claremont School of Theology and wrote influential works on pastoral care, counseling, and mental health ministry.[4][6]
