House Beautiful (Editor)
Elizabeth Gordon (1906–2000) was the editor of House Beautiful magazine from 1941 to 1964, transforming it into a major influence on American home design and architecture. She championed traditional styles against the International Style, collaborating closely with Frank Lloyd Wright, and grew the magazine's readership from 226,304 in 1940 to nearly a million by her retirement. Known as 'a missionary of taste to the American homemaker,' she elevated domestic design for housewives and professionals alike.[1][2][4]
