Horace Howard Furness

Horace Howard Furness (1833–1912) was an American Shakespearean scholar and editor who became one of the leading authorities on Shakespeare in the 19th and early 20th centuries. He is best known for compiling, with his son and collaborators, the influential variorum editions of Shakespeare’s plays, which helped shape modern Shakespeare scholarship.
