Hope Jahren
Anne Hope Jahren (born September 27, 1969) is an American geobiologist, geochemist, and author best known for her New York Times bestselling memoir Lab Girl, which explores her life in science and her passion for plants. She earned her PhD in soil science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1996 and has held positions at institutions including Georgia Tech, Johns Hopkins, the University of Hawaii, and currently as a Wilson Professor at the University of Oslo. Jahren is a recipient of prestigious awards like the James B. Macelwane Medal and Donath Medal, and was named one of Time's 100 Most Influential People in 2016.
