Holly FitzGerald

Holly FitzGerald was born in Seattle, Washington, and grew up in Woodbridge, Connecticut. She graduated from Lake Erie College and received a master's degree in counselling from Suffolk University. FitzGerald worked as a counsellor with children and adults for many years before teaching and counselling at Bristol Community College in New Bedford, Massachusetts. She is best known for her memoir about surviving 26 days lost on the Madre de Dios river in the Amazon with her husband in 1973.
