Herodotus

Herodotus (c. 484–425 BCE) was a Greek historian from Halicarnassus (modern-day Bodrum, Turkey) who is known as the 'Father of History' for his pioneering narrative work. He traveled extensively throughout Egypt, Africa, and Asia Minor, documenting his observations and experiences before settling in Thurii, Italy, where he completed his major work. His 'Histories' provides detailed accounts of the Greco-Persian Wars and the growth of the Persian Empire, though some critics have questioned the accuracy of his accounts.
